Ms. Ritter’s Week in Review
Ms. Ritter, a 2nd grade teacher, has created an innovative means of communicating with the students’ parents. Every week Ms. Ritter takes digital photographs of all the activities that take place in her classroom. Using PhotoStory 3 she creates a movie/slideshow with the images and uploads the video to TeacherTube. Then the video is embedded to a page on Ms. Ritter’s TeacherWeb site. This gives the parents a chance to see their children in action on a weekly basis. CRE 4th Grade Debate
Mrs. Jenkins 4th grade class at Cactus Ranch Elementary challenged students from Jefferson ISD in Louisville, Kentucky to a debate via videoconference. The topic of the debate was whether or not children should have the freedom to spend their allowance on whatever they want. Cactus Ranch students asserted that children earn their allowance and should have the right to decide how to spend it. Since both schools made strong arguments, the debate was determined a draw.
